The Role:

Our client is seeking a Float RN to provide professional nursing care within the assigned department. The ideal candidate will have experience in ED and MS/PCU, be proficient in patient assessment, pain management, and medication administration. This position requires flexibility, organization, and the ability to function well under stressful situations. The Resource RN will be responsible for coordinating care planning, communicating with physicians, and providing care that meets the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides professional nursing care within the department assigned

  • Coordinates care planning with other disciplines

  • Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs of patients

  • Communicates with physicians regarding changes in patient's status

  • Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment

  • Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy

  • Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain

  • Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques

  • Educates the patient and family regarding pain management

  • Ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient's response to treatment

  • Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient's age

  • Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition

  • Follows the SIX (6) medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning

  • Demonstrates an ability to assist physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills

  • Demonstrates ability to perform treatments and provide services to level licensure

  • Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring, identifies dysrhythmias and treats appropriately based upon ACLS protocol

Qualifications:

  • Outpatient Facility (1+ years)

  • Valid American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS) certification/license

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) certification/license in the state of New Hampshire (NH)

  • ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:

    • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS)

    • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)

    • American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA PALS)
